Welcome to the "Kamifukai" website.
Kamifukai is a local organization in Kamifurano-cho, Hokkaido founded in 2006, working towards the prevention of winter moutain activity accidents. This includes defining local safety rules to prevent accidents and improve climbing manners for all. Our activities include creating and updating hazard zone maps, leaflets and other educational materials as well as holding an annual avalanche course.
As with most things like this though, we are a voluntary organization with limited resources. With the increase we've seen in foreign visitors in the region we would like to provide as much information as possible, but at the time our English material is very limited. Any and all English language material will be (eventually) listed here. In the mean time, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Note that we make considerable effort to try and respond to all conatct, but this may not always be possible.
